Head of Consulting ref 1011-2

Part of a highly successful and dynamic global business, our client is a high growth IT consulting business with sites throughout the UK. They are recruiting a key new role of Head of Consulting to report directly to the main board.

In this role, you will manage a team of 100+ consultants, who are based around the UK at key client sites, focussing on managing resource planning and sourcing, as well as developing future strategy to cope with the timely supply of those consultants. There is a strong emphasis on maximising chargeable utilisation from your team and ultimately driving forward efficiency and overall profit margin. Working closely with the demand side of the business and the head of that division, your team will provide support from both a hands on and strategic perspective, delivering high quality consulting solutions for which our client is renowned worldwide.

Skills Required

  • An undergraduate degree or equivalent
  • Experience in resource planning and demand forecasting for a resource pool of ~100 staff
  • Experience of managing consulting solutions, teams and internal / external client relationships
  • High degree of people management and motivational skills
  • Excellent analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
  • In depth knowledge of the IT Consulting and /or Professional Services sector, managing successful large scale (preferably ERP) projects for external customers
  • Broad commercial / public sector client exposure
  • A track record of delivering internal process improvement

Our clients’ head office is based in the South, by the nature of their projects and operational sites; the location of this role is flexible but will involve UK travel. Career prospects exist in the UK and internationally.

This is an exceptional opportunity for a new Head of UK Marketing to join a fast growing international Software Group.   

The role
Reporting to the main board and managing a team of 12, the Head of Marketing provides a key input into the future growth of the UK business through direct control of every element of the marketing mix. By identifying new market opportunities, and undertaking competitor analysis, you and your team will provide vital support to the integration of new products and services into the business. As such, you should be used to contributing to senior management decision making as well as presenting before clients and at board level.
The candidate
We are ideally looking for marketing expert from a software or consulting background capable of creative thinking and driving innovative ideas, as well as sharp commercial acumen and a pragmatic, results-driven approach. Candidates will be educated to degree level or equivalent and be positive, enthusiastic and confident communicators, motivated by success and passionate about driving the business forward. Managing Director – South West £60k + bens + bonus reference 1012-1

Our client is an early stage company that designs and sells high volume web based products and services. They seek a managing director to lead the business into a new era.

Your first role as Managing Director will be to assist the current advisors in raising PE / VC funds. Maximising business performance you will develop and direct the implementation of the business strategy. Reporting to the owner and external investors, you will co-ordinate all activities to achieve agreed targets and standards for financial and trading performance, quality, culture and legislative adherence. You will oversea the launch of two new products, one through a franchise model.

The successful candidate will have a proven track record of success as a board member / managing director of a high growth start-up / SME business, preferably in the web or ’software as service’ sectors. Knowledge of franchise operations would also be advantageous. You will have credibility with VC / PE / banks. An outgoing, ‘people’ person, comfortable in a small environment and ‘hands-on’, you will build a team through consensus and contribute directly to the growth and commercial success of the business.
